I don't know about you but sometimes I get distracted by life when listening to others and sometimes I am preoccupied with formulating my own response that I fail to grasp the full meaning behind the words being shared with me.
Recently, I have been practicing being more contemplative in my dialogue especially when it comes to LISTENING TO OTHERS. It is truly a gift to be able to listen and engage with others. One that we possibly take for granted.
I recently completed a course through the LA Archdiocese and one of the topics we covered was contemplative dialogue. I am attaching the document, Guidelines for Contemplative Dialogue, shared with us by one of our facilitators. I am hopeful that this fall when classes begin I am able to be more contemplative in my dialogue with my students. God Bless.
